An exceptional washed Gesha from Circasia, Quindío, grown by Sebastián Gomez at La Divisa Farm. Delicately processed with underwater fermentation, this micro-lot delivers elegant floral aromatics layered with red fruits, mandarin, and soft brown sugar sweetness.
Grown in the highlands of Circasia, Quindío, this outstanding micro-lot comes from Sebastián Gomez and his family’s La Divisa Farm. Sitting at 1,700 metres above sea level, the 13-hectare farm is shaded by native trees including Guamo, Guayacan, Gualandai, and Nogal—creating an ideal environment for producing high-quality specialty coffee.
Sebastián represents a new generation of Colombian coffee producers. After returning to Colombia in 2014 and witnessing the global specialty coffee movement, he and his family shifted their focus from volume to quality. Alongside his father John—who has over 30 years of experience—they began cultivating varieties such as Gesha and Pink Bourbon, committing to producing truly differentiated coffees.
This lot is 100% Gesha, a varietal originally discovered in Ethiopia in 1931 and introduced to Colombia in 2005. Known for its refined cup profile, Gesha thrives under careful cultivation and meticulous processing.
Cherries for this lot were harvested following strict ripeness criteria, then floated and hand-sorted to remove defects. The coffee underwent 30 hours of underwater fermentation before pulping, followed by a gentle wash and slow drying in temperature-controlled conditions to achieve optimal moisture content.
The result is a beautifully expressive cup—floral and vibrant, with notes of red fruits, mandarin, and a soft brown sugar sweetness.
Sebastián continues to refine his craft with the support of our supplier Cofinet, whose technical guidance has helped elevate the quality of coffees from La Divisa Farm.
